Debbie
is the director, producer and writer of
both House Traps and Car Traps. The movies
were designed to be a cross between a drama
and a training video aimed at young consumers
as they venture out to buy their first car
or rent a property.
Debbie
was forced to take on multiple roles for
the making of Car Traps as Script writer,
producer, director, camera operator and
also playing the role of Sam. Car Traps
came about very quickly. When long time
friend NBL Legend Cal Bruton came over to
Perth for the Basketball Legends game, A
conversation about cars prompted Debbie
to ask him if he wanted to be in a movie.
Cal agreed and within in two days a script
was written, a cast assembled and the movie
filmed. As a result of such short notice,
finding a female actor was difficult so
Debbie stepped into the role.
Debbie
has a strong background in entertainment.
She was a talented dancer, performed to
audiences as an ambassador to the National
Heart Foundation's Jump Rope for Heart Program
for 15 years and had a performance team
called the "Basketball Wizards".
Debbie has also had a strong involvement
in the promotion and marketing of the sport
of Basketball through the late 80's and
the 90's.
While
most of Debbie's talents lie behind the
camera. She is also an actor and takes on
the occasional role. She is currently working
on a documentary about the Tasmanian Devil,
exploring the human/devil relationship.
